Aviation Rescue Fire Fighting

Fire Stations

Modifications to existing Airport Fire Stations including ventilation upgrades to the engine rooms with Truck Exhaust docking stations to keep diesel particulates and airborne contaminants out of the dormitories and living areas at:

  • Adelaide Airport
  • Melbourne Airport
  • Uluru Airport
  • Townsville Airport

Waste Water Treatment

The Uluru Airport project included the design of a pre-treatment system for the waste water from the Fire Training Ground following the introduction of Solberg RF6 foam-equipped fire trucks.

The foam extinguishing agent caused the on-site sewer treatment plant to fail. Our Brief was to reduce the COD (chemical oxygen demand) and BOD (biological oxygen demand) in the waste water to below 400ppm via pre-treatment before it enters the existing airport sewer treatment plant.

The solution included the installation of an anaerobic digestion tank on the fire training ground waste discharge with a dosing system to ensure the tank has viable micro-organisms to suit the varying chemical concentration levels and site temperatures.
