Warrnambool Cheese & Butter

Warrnambool Cheese & Butter Factory is the oldest dairy processor in Australia, established 1888. Edison Consultants have provided engineering design services for various projects including:

  • Main Cheese Production Room
  • Lactorferrin Plant
  • Whey Building

The main cheese facility includes the cheese vats hall, cheese processing machinery area, and the block forming room. The upgrade of the ageing ventilation plant serving the cheese making facility included:

  • New air handling units fitted with HEPA filtration for the three hygiene areas
  • Circular fabric ducts to distribute conditioned air; removable for deep clean
  • Pressure differentials to maintain the various hygiene areas

The installation was designed to be staged to minimise disruption to the processing facility, with works in the hygiene areas to be done during maintenance shutdown periods.
